FAQ

General Questions

What is Titan Coatings?

Titan Coatings is a premium manufacturer of elastomer-based ceramic coatings designed to provide superior protection for automotive surfaces. Our coatings offer enhanced durability, flexibility, and resistance compared to traditional ceramic coatings.

What makes Titan Coatings different from other ceramic coatings?

Unlike standard ceramic coatings, Titan Coatings utilize advanced elastomer technology, making them more flexible and resistant to cracking or chipping. This ensures long-lasting protection while maintaining a high-gloss finish and hydrophobic properties.

What are elastomer-based ceramic coatings, and how do they work?

Elastomer-based ceramic coatings combine the hardness of ceramic protection with the flexibility of elastomers. This allows the coating to expand and contract with temperature changes, reducing the risk of cracking and enhancing long-term durability.

How long does a Titan Coatings application last?

The longevity of Titan Coatings depends on the specific product used and the number of layers (sandwiches) applied. In general, a single layer of Zeus can last up to 8 years. With proper maintenance and periodic touch-ups, our coatings can remain effective for 4 to 7 years or longer.

Is Titan Coatings suitable for all vehicles?

Yes! Titan Coatings can be applied to cars, motorcycles, boats, and even aircraft. We offer specialized coatings for different surfaces, ensuring cost-effective solutions with the best results. For example:

  • For paint: Zeus, Vulcan, Apex, Hydro and PX10
  • For glass: Titan Hyperglass
  • For plastics & trims: Flexilis and PX10
  • For marine & aircraft: Triton and FireBird

Application & Maintenance

Can I apply Titan Coatings myself, or does it require a professional installer?

We offer both professional and DIY solutions. Our professional-grade coatings require application by certified installers to ensure maximum durability and performance. However, we also provide high-quality DIY products, such as Ultra and Omniguard, which help maintain and refresh your coating at home.

How do I maintain my vehicle after applying Titan Coatings?

To keep your coating in peak condition:

  • Wash your vehicle using a pH-neutral shampoo.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaning products.
  • Use Ultra and Omniguard for maintenance and enhanced hydrophobic effects.
  • Regularly apply Ultra or Omniguard quick detailer to build up added protection.

Can Titan Coatings be layered for extra protection?

Yes! Some of our coatings are designed to be layered for increased durability, gloss, and hydrophobic properties. Your installer can recommend the best layering/Sandwishing process for your vehicle.

How long does the curing process take?

The curing time varies depending on the product used:

  • Titan APEX cures within 2 hours, allowing for quicker use.
  • Other Titan Coatings take 12–24 hours for initial curing. While you can drive in the rain during this period, it is recommended not to wash the vehicle for 7 days to allow full chemical bonding.

Titan Coatings improves and enhances its brilliance over time, unlike other coatings that peak in appearance immediately after application and start degrading.

Does Titan Coatings require special cleaning products?

While not mandatory, using ceramic-safe shampoos and maintenance sprays like Ultra and Omniguard will help maximize performance and durability. Avoid abrasive products that can degrade the coating.

Do i have to prep the surface before installing the coating?

Yes! You need to prep the surface of the vehicle using before installing the coating.

While you can use any prep solution or diluted alcholoe, We highly advice to use our BioPrep with 99.99% pure Alchole for best bond.

Performance & Durability

How does Titan Coatings compare to traditional ceramic coatings?

Titan Coatings provide superior flexibility, higher resistance to environmental damage, and longer-lasting protection compared to standard ceramic coatings. The elastomer technology prevents cracking and enhances overall durability.

Is Titan Coatings resistant to UV rays and oxidation?

Yes! Our coatings offer excellent UV resistance, preventing oxidation, fading, and sun damage over time.

Does it protect against scratches and swirl marks?

While no coating is 100% scratch-proof, Titan Coatings create a highly durable surface that reduces the likelihood of minor scratches and swirl marks caused by washing and environmental debris. Some of our coatings also feature self-healing properties, which can activate when heat is applied to the surface.

How does Titan Coatings perform in extreme weather conditions?

Titan Coatings are tested and proven to perform in the harshest climates worldwide, from Iceland’s freezing conditions to Australia’s scorching heat. Our elastomer-based technology makes them highly resistant to temperature fluctuations, humidity, and harsh weather conditions, ensuring reliable performance in all environments.

Will Titan Coatings prevent water spots and stains?

Our coatings have excellent hydrophobic properties, significantly reducing water spots and stains. However, proper maintenance and drying techniques will further minimize the risk of water spot buildup.

Pricing & Warranty

How much does a Titan Coatings application cost?

Pricing varies depending on the vehicle size, condition, and specific coating package chosen. Contact an authorized installer for an accurate quote.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes! Titan Coatings come with a warranty when installed by a certified professional. The installer will provide the warranty, which depends on the type of layering and products used during the application.

What happens if the coating starts to wear off?

Titan Coatings have an exceptionally low failure rateless than 1% worldwide over the last 5 years. With proper maintenance, wear can be minimized. If degradation occurs, our certified installer must inspect the vehicle, provide feedback, and work on restoring the coating as needed.

Can I remove Titan Coatings if needed?

Yes, but removal techniq depends on coatings used, PX10 for example requires machine and polishing compounding. It is the best to have a professional handle the removal process if necessary.
